We work with Aveda and Natulique — two brands whose formulas are certified organic. Not "natural inspired." Certified. The difference is in what's not there: no ammonia, no parabens, nothing we'd have to apologise for.
Every appointment begins with a proper consultation. We want to understand your hair, not just process it. That takes a few minutes. It shows in the result — and in how you feel six weeks later.
We built a room worth sitting in: dark walls, warm pendant lights, fresh flowers on the table. A haircut in an uncomfortable place is a different experience. We decided ours would not be.
Named for the month when things are prepared.

Aveda Style
Salon August is a hair salon on Chapel St, St Kilda. We've been here long enough to know our clients by name and colour formula — the kind of length that earns something, if you don't waste it.
We use Aveda and Natulique because we believe what touches your scalp matters. Both brands publish their formulas. Both have certifications we can show you. Neither one is a marketing position — it's what we put on your head, and we chose it deliberately.
The room took thought too. Dark walls, warm lights, real flowers, a Klimt on the wall. A couple of hours in a good room is a different experience to a couple of hours in a bad one. We know which we'd prefer.
